Bravery & Greed revives retro pixel co-op fun

Bravery & Greed is a new pixel, co-op roguelike from a small two person developer called Rekka Games and published by Team17.

I'm a firm believer that roguelike and co-op is a match made in heaven and Bravery & Greed is no exception.

It's a side scrolling, metroidvania styled beat em up with procedurally generated levels and co-op for up to 4 players.

Each player takes on the role of one if the standard rpg archetypes; warrior, rogue, mage, valkyrie/amazon.

Characters slash and blast their way across levels, collecting loot and leveling up both via equipment and skill trees.

It's not a new formula or anything genre breaking, but it is fun.

Graphically it's bold, colourful and beautiful, a lot of attention to detail and some charming character animations.

Controls are responsive and intuitive and most importantly, there were no issues or lag during online multiplayer.

Overall it's a really fun multiplayer experience that is also almost as much fun to play solo. A charming retro feel game with more contemporary mechanics and quality of life touches.

At $19.99 it's definitely worth picking up, particularly if you're playing with friends.

It's available now on all formats.
