Eresys , an unplayable alpha test is available now

If I received a game in this state to review, normally I just wouldn't bother.

However as part of an agreement before being given a key, I agreed to produce coverage.

Developed by Dragonis Games, Eresys is 4-person Lovecraftian Co-Op game on Steam.

"With its mysterious and cursed forest, horrifying entities, missions, and mind-bending puzzles, Eresys promises to deliver an immersive and thrilling experience for players who dare to venture into the Lovecraftian Universe."

In reality, it's an unplayable mess that is barely proof of concept and a very far cry from Early Access (which is what it has been released as).

Graphically the game looks okay... until you try to move, or look in any direction. At which point you just get graphical anomalies screen tearing unusual artifacts making it impossible to play let alone enjoy.

To be sure it wasn't just poor optimization, I dropped the resolution and settings way down but the issue persists.

There seems to be a consensus around the quality of this game, as the are very few online players.

During my time playing the game for a review, I was unable to find a game to join or, when I hosted one, unable to find players to join me.

This game is VERY far from finished in it's current state, this is an alpha play test.

In my opinion, this should be a free sign up and not on any store front yet.

At the moment it'sbin the very early stages of play testing and bug reports.

This this game is not ready for the marketplace yet and it's certainly far from even Early Access.

I really do not agree with the practice of charging players to bug test alpha test nacent software.

The concept of the game is quite interesting, however, I fear it will never see success as any potential player base will be put off by its current state, never to return.
