Jurassic World Aftermath: part 2 Oculus Quest.

Jurassic world Aftermath was developed by Coatsink and published exclusively by and for Oculus back in December 2020. Part 2 picks up directly where it's predecessor left off.

Crash-landing on Isla Nublar after the fall of the Jurassic World theme park, players find themselves trapped in an abandoned research facility when their mission to recover valuable information goes disastrously wrong. Featuring all-new locations, puzzles and dinosaur encounters, Jurassic World Aftermath: Part 2 builds on the wonder and excitement at every turn as players venture to the opulent heights of Dr. Henry Wu’s office and delve into a secret vault deep beneath the facility, leading to the story’s thrilling conclusion.

Survival is dependent on puzzle-solving, exploration and stealth and there is a genuine feeling of tension that gradually builds throughout the experience.

Building on the stealth mechanics, sound becomes a more integral part of the experience, with equipment noise or smaller dinosaurs actually alerting larger dinosaurs to your location.

The game is delivered in wonderfully stylized cell shaded graphics. This works on two levels. Firstly it looks fantastic and it's surprisingly immersive and secondly it allows the the Oculus Quest to move the game along extremely smoothly.

While I genuinely enjoyed playing the game I did find, even with plentiful comfort options, that I became quite nauseous after about an hour. Thus limiting my sessions. However it is worth noting that I'm very susceptible to VR sickness. But be warned if you're the sensitive type.

Overall a very fun experience the only downside is the way it was released.

Part 1 is $24.99 and Part 2 an additional $14.99.

$40 for a six hour adventure seems a little steep to me. So while it's an excellent example of what the Quest can do, it might be best to wait for a sale or Oculus store discount email before you experience it for yourself.
