Opus: Echo of a Starsong out on Steam Sep 1st

Opus: Echo of Starsong is available on Steam from September 1st. The game follows Eda and Jun, two star-crossed adventurers who team up to uncover the source of a mysterious outer space radiance known as the ‘Starsong’. Gameplay moves between visual novel style storytelling, puzzle-solving, galaxy charting, space navigating, and third person exploration, as Eda and Jun chart a course to the heart of the galaxy.

Opus: Echo of a Star song is the third instalment in the award-winning Opus anthology series, following previous titles Opus: The Day We Found Earth and Opus: Rocket of Whispers, and is due to be released on PC on September 1st.

The anthology is from indie studio. Sigono is a Taiwanese studio founded in 2013 by Brian Lee and Scott Chen.

They started the studio with a mission to create ‘unique, heartfelt experiences that bring people joy’. Their Opus series has garnered critical acclaim and over 10 million downloads, with the second installment (Rocket of Whispers) becoming one of the rare instances were an indie game lands in Famitsu’s coveted Platinum Hall of Fame.

Opus: Echo of Starsong is a really good looking game with a compelling story and some fantastic sound design. It's just shy of being a visual novel with a certain level of interaction as well as puzzles and dialogue choices. That said the game is very narrative heavy but with really well thought out lore and a plot that pushes forward at perfect cadence, creating intrigue, suspense and genuine sense of wanting to progress and learn more.
