The new DLC The Heroes of the Aegean for the 4X game Old World adds 6 new historical free form scenarios to the base game.
(You can find our review of Old World here)
Each one with their own unique characters and objectives. These scenarios are quite varied with everything from survival mechanics to a RPG-like cloak and dagger scenario where you play Philip´s widow Queen Olympias as she holds the empire together after the king´s assassination, to a classic conquer the ancient world and finally carve your own empire out of the chaos after Alexander´s death.
These scenarios are all quite interesting with their own kind of challenge and will offer you many hours of gameplay. Outside these scenarios the Hittites have been added as a new civilization to play in the main campaign and they have unique units and civics. The Hittites are quite fun to play, with their unique abilities and civics like clear forest and no movement penalty when crossing hills, makes them quite powerful in the early game. For example, their no penalty crossing hills lets you scout larger area much faster early, which is very powerful and can make or break some games at higher difficulty.
The Hittites are a great addition to an already pretty good roster of civilizations.
All in all, the DLC is adds plenty of content for the price and I highly recommend it to anyone who is enjoying Old World.
