Ratalaika games have been on a bit of a roll lately with some great cheap and cheerful indies. Unfortunately they struck out with their latest release "Virtuous Western".
Virtuous Western is 30 level puzzle platformer, where you must collect bullets to kill enemies in a certain order to complete the level and move on to the next one.
The premise, mechanics and level design are all really good but they are unfortunately let down by terrible implementation.
Unresponsive controls and clipping cause infuriating deaths forcing levels to be replayed over and over.
Later levels require split second timing with zero margin for error. While this is a relatively easy platinum/1000 gamer score I just couldn't sit through it and opted to uninstall for the sake of my sanity.
However check out Achievement Guide's excellent walkthrough. if you do decide to try and see it through to the end.
Here's the official game description:
Use your trusty revolver to shoot down enemies, or find other ways to use the environment to your advantage.
Drop stuff down, blow stuff up, and even manipulate your foes to take each other out with friendly fire! Jump, dodge, and collect bullets.
Prove that you’re the toughest gunslinger in the wild west!
