Wizard of Legend 2 brings the familiar roguelite formula with its fast-paced action, diverse powers, and intense combat, but adds a unique four-player co-op mode that sets it apart from its genre peers.
Developed by Humble Games and Dead Mage, the game introduces players to Arcana—magical abilities that allow customization of fire, water, earth, wind, lightning, and chaos powers. While combining these powers can be fun, early access has some balancing issues that make progression feel slow, especially when facing tougher bosses.
Visually, the sequel has evolved from its pixelated predecessor, now boasting vibrant graphics and detailed environments that heighten the gameplay experience. Its colorful palette and varied enemies make exploration engaging. The music and voice acting complement the game’s energetic style, although some dialogue can feel overly corny. The game excels in aesthetics and has great potential, but it suffers from unbalanced difficulty, as enemies hit much harder than expected, requiring players to grind extensively.
The promise of co-op gameplay is exciting, and with Dead Mage behind Children of Morta, there is optimism that future updates will refine the overall balance and pacing. For now, Wizard of Legend 2 offers an enjoyable but occasionally frustrating experience that could greatly improve as development continues.
